BALTIMORE, Md. - The Goucher College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is sponsoring an MG3 Virtual 5 Mile Relay Walk/Run during Alumni Weekend (April 23-25). All proceeds will benefit the Matt Gabriel Scholarship Fund. The cost to enter is $40 per team, and the best three-team times will receive a prize.

"Every year SAAC sponsors a MG3 event," said SAAC Co-President and senior women's soccer player Rylee McDonnell. "These events are very important to our group because they allow us to honor Matt Gabriel and his legacy. Before the event begins, we typically have the head men's lacrosse coach, Brian Kelly, speak about Matt and the impact he had on the field and on campus. Personally, I never knew Matt, but after hearing BK and friends of Matt speak I can tell that he was a fun-loving, positive guy with a large presence within the Goucher community. This year we hope the MG3 5 Mile Virtual Relay Walk/Run will bring the Goucher College community together virtually for a fun, competitive event that embodies Matt's spirit and allows his story and legacy to be shared during Alumni Weekend." 

The MG3 5 Mile Virtual Relay Walk/Run is a five-mile walk or run for teams of two to five participants. Each team can decide how it splits up the five miles, can have both walk and run combined. If you want to participate, but do not have a team, email SAAC at gouchercollegesaac@goucher.edu to discuss options, while teams of less than five participants could have the option to add individuals that do not have a team.

Participants are encouraged to conduct their walk/run during Alumni Weekend (April 23-25). The team's time for its walk/run is due on April 25 at 8 p.m. (EST)

Send payment to Women's Soccer Head Coach Stephanie Ricketts via Venmo (@stephanie-ricketts-3), or you send a check made out to the Matt Gabriel Scholarship Fund to Women's Soccer Office, Goucher College, 1021 Dulaney Valley Road, Baltimore, MD 21204. If your team does not have five participants and are interested in adding member, please wait to send payment until talking to a SAAC representative.
