Teams from Goucher Place 1-2 at Landmark Invitational
RINGOES, N.J. — Goucher sent two riding teams to the inaugural Landmark Invitational, which was conducted today at Briarwood Farm at Black River Farm. The one that finished in first place at the IHSA Zone IV Championships back on March 28 won the championship of today's event with a score of 43 points.

One point back in second place was the other team from Goucher.
Today's invitational brought together the riding teams from four of the schools who are members of the Landmark Conference. Drew, which hosted the show, placed third with a score of 28 points, Susquehanna was fourth with 22 and Scranton was fifth with 19.
In addition to claiming the top two spots in team scoring, Goucher produced the medal champion and medal reserve champion. Finishing first through third, respectively, in the medal class were Joey Fink (Baltimore, Md./The Park School) and Ashley Bent (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area), both from Goucher, and Kate Walker from Drew.
Fink was also the judge's choice as the show's best overall rider.
Fink contributed 12 of the points that allowed the victorious Goucher team to wind up with a score of 43. He secured seven points for a first-place performance in open equitation over fences and the remaining five points for placing second in open flat.
Alison Radgowski (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and Anna Carmichael (Colorado Springs, Colo./William J. Palmer) competed in the intermediate and novice classes, respectively, on Goucher's winning entry. Radgowski was awarded first place in intermediate fences and supplied nine points to her team's total; Carmichael was runner-up in both phases, picking up a total of 10 points.
Sarah Lummis (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) earned seven points for taking first place in walk-trot-canter and Joel Brandis (Portland, Ore./Grant) was the runner-up in walk-trot, good for five points.
There were three first-place performances by riders on Goucher's runner-up team: Cary Hundley (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) in intermediate flat, Clea Lerner (Los Angeles, Calif./Renaissance Arts Academy) in novice flat and Kaduk Sherpa (East Aurora, N.Y./The Park School) in novice fences. Bent earned five points for placing second behind Fink in open fences and Kate Matthews (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) was runner-up in walk-trot-canter.
