Equestrian Earns Sixth Consecutive Bid to IHSA Nationals
Goucher College Equestrian team advanced to the IHSA National Horse Show in Lexington, Ky. after earning Reserve Champion honors at the Zone IV Championships on Saturday afternoon.
LAURINBURG, N.C. – Goucher College Equestrian team advanced to the IHSA National Horse Show in Lexington, Ky. after earning Reserve Champion honors at the Zone IV Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Cary Hundley (Ellicott City, Md.) continued her season of excellence winning the team open flat. She also went on to earn second place in the Cacchione Cup division and the team open fences, third in the individual open flat and eighth in the individual open fences.
Goucher's Top Performances:
- Senior Sarah Lummis (Westminster, Md.) took home first place in the team intermediate flat.
- Fellow senior Alison Radgowski (Northport, N.Y.) placed fifth in the team intermediate over fences.
- Junior Clea Lerner (Los Angeles, Ca.) was the top rider in the team novice flat division.
- First-year rider, Rena DiPaula (Westminster, Md.) earned fifth place honors in the team novice over fences for the Gophers.
- Sophomore Wren Wakeman (Addison, ME) took third in the team walk trot canter.
- Junior Rachel Brannock (Baltimore, Md.) was fourth out of all riders in the team walk trot.
