Goucher Places 5th at Exclusive Invite-Only Tournament
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - On Saturday the Goucher College Equestrian team traveled to Ohio to compete in the Holiday Classic Tournament of Champions at Otterbein University. SCAD was the Champion Team on the day with 44 points.
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - On Saturday the Goucher College Equestrian team traveled to Ohio to compete in the Holiday Classic Tournament of Champions at Otterbein University. SCAD was the Champion Team on the day with 44 points.
This tournament is by invitation only for school's that are winning their Region around the country.
Goucher had two first-place finishes in the competition, freshman Nadia Langer (Chevy Chase, Md.) in Novice Flat and sophomore Adeline Callihan (Keene, N.H.) in Walk Trot Canter. Senior Wren Wakeman (Addison, Maine) placed second in Intermediate Flat. Freshman Emily Axel (Davenport, Iowa) had two impressive events, placing 3rd in Intermediate Fences and 4th in Low Collegiate Medal. Senior Havah Berg (Champaign-Urbana, Ill.) also placed 4th in her event, the Walk Trot.
Other top-ten finishes were made by sophomore Rachel Stockslager (New Freedom, Pa.), freshman Irene Powlick (Salt Lake City, Utah), and junior Courtney Sloan (Annandale, Va.). Stockslager placed 6th in Novice Fences, Powlick placed 7th in Open Flat & Open Fences, and Sloan placed 8th in Collegiate High Medal.

8th: Penn State Blue Team - 25 points
