Equestrian First at American, Edwards Takes High Point Rider Honors
BURTONSVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team remained perfect in IHSA competition on Sunday, taking High Point honors for the third straight show to open the season at the show hosted by American University. The Gophers finished with 45 points, with the host Eagles (28) and University of Maryland (26) taking second and third.
Senior Cordelia Edwards earned High Point Rider honors. Edwards finished first in both Limit Flat and Intermediate Fences. Kellen Sullivan, who had finished as High Point Rider in the first two shows, placed as the Reserve High Point Rider after taking first in Open Flat and Open Fences.
Jacob Connell finished second in Intermediate Flat, with Christina Mlynarski taking second in Limit Fences. Harriet Arney placed first in Limit Flat, with Zoe Wright-Riley placing fifth in Limit Flat.
Ashlyn Keffer finished second overall in Novice Flat, while Chloe Perkins and Quinn Kirkpatrick were each fifth in Pre-Novice Flat. Lily L'Oiseau took first in Intro Flat.
Goucher is back in action Sunday, October 29 at the second American University IHSA show of the season at Spring Hill Stables.
