Equestrian Extends Regional Lead, Earns Reserve High Point Honors
CHEVY CHASE, Md. - In the final IHSA show of the semester, the Goucher College equestrian team took team reserve High Point honors with 38 points at the show hosted by the University of Maryland on Sunday at Meadowbrook Stables. The hosts took High Point accolades with 41 points.
Goucher extended its lead in the IHSA Zone IV, Region I standings to 68 points entering the spring semester. The most a team can earn in a single show is 50 points.
Kellen Sullivan and Christina Mlynarski were each in the running for Reserve High Point Rider honors, with Sullivan taking the Reserve honor Sunday. Sullivan finished first in Open Flat and second in Open Fences. Mlynarski placed first in Limit Flat and was second in Limit Fences.
Sullivan also currently leads the Zone IV, Region I Cacchione Cup standings.
Jacob Connell finished first in Intermediate Flat, with Hayley Anderson taking second in Intermediate Fences. Sues Hardee came in behind Anderson in third in Intermediate Fences.
Harriet Arney took home second in Limit Flat, with Jocelyn Harris coming in sixth in the same event. Sarah Weiner finished first in Novice Flat, with Chloe Perkins ending up fifth.
Goucher is back in action on Saturday, December 2 at the invitation-only Holiday Classic Tournament of Champions hosted by Centenary (N.J.) University.
