Equestrian Competes at Zone IV Championships Saturday
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team seeks to defend its 2023 IHSA Zone IV Championship on Saturday when it competes in the Zone IV Championships hosted by Sweet Briar College at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center.
Goucher hosted the Zone IV Championships last season and captured the fourth zone title in program history and first since 2015. The top two teams on Saturday will advance to IHSA nationals, which are set for May 2-5 at Tryon International in Mill Spring, North Carolina. The top two individuals in each event will also advance.
A total of seven riders will be competing in five individual and eight team classes for Goucher.
Kellen Sullivan is the Region I representative in the Cacchione Cup competition and will compete in individual Open Fences and Flat as well as team Open Fences and Open Flat. Jacob Connell will compete in individual Limit Fences and Flat as well as Team Intermediate Flat.
Hayley Anderson is representing the Gophers in Team Intermediate Fences, while Christina Mlynarski takes part in team Limit Fences and Cordelia Edwards competes in team Limit Flat. Kristen Wilhelm competes in team Novice Flat, while Lily L'Oiseau competes in team Intro.
