Seven From Field Hockey Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad
GENEVA, N.Y. - Seven members of the Goucher College field hockey team were named to the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad announced on Thursday. Over 1,700 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions were selected for the honor.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Named to the team for the Gophers were seniors Amita Chatterjee (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) and Brighid Kowal (Silver Spring, Md./Northwood), junior Daryn Carter (Dover, Pa./Dover Area), sophomore Zoe Mikles (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) and first years Maddie Fisher (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley), Riley Peery (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) and Alana Wang (Louisville, Ky./North Oldham).
Chatterjee was one of 277 seniors nationwide recognized for being named to the National Academic Squad for the fourth time.
