Holmes Scores Twice, Gophers Prevail 2-1 in OT

LANCASTER, Pa. - Goucher College field hockey first year Angelena Holmes scored twice, including the game-winner with 2:16 left in the first overtime session, to lift the Gophers to a 2-1 win at Lancaster Bible at Funk Field Wednesday evening.
- Goucher (4-0) got a shot on goal just over a minute into the game as Daryn Carter's shot was saved by Amanda Hoover.
- LBC (1-3) had a shot in the final seconds of the quarter that was saved by Gopher goalie Katie Bloom.
- Goucher outshot the Chargers 4-2 in the second.
- Just over five minutes in, Bloom made a save on an Alexis Gilbert attempt.
- The Gophers had a shot on a penalty corner in the final minute of the half blocked.
- Lancaster Bible took a 1-0 lead 5:45 into the second quarter on a Gilbert tally.
- The Gophers had a pair of corners midway through the third quarter, but a pair of Carter shots were blocked.
- Holmes tied the game for Goucher with 7:17 remaining.
- After a shot by Zoe Mikles was blocked, Holmes collected the rebound, dribbled in and shot and scored to tie the game.
