Men's Basketball to Participate in Coaches vs. Cancer Saturday
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's basketball program will participate in the annual National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)/American Cancer Society Suits and Sneakers initiative during the Gophers' home game against the University of Scranton on Saturday, January 27 at 2 pm.
The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer. It also promotes the American Cancer Society as a source of inspiration and hope for those fighting cancer. While coaching games this week, coaches will wear sneakers with their game attire as visible support of the American Cancer Society and its fight against cancer.
The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The program empowers basketball and other athletic coaches alike to help save lives from cancer by using their community leadership to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society.
