Gophers Sit Fifth at Landmark Men's Golf Championship
PIKESVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College men's golf team sits fifth after day one of the Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship at Woodholme Country Club after posting an opening round score of 334 on Friday. The Gophers sit 13 shots back of Catholic, which leads after posting a 321 on the par 73, 6,969-yard layout.
Khai Buttner (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin) sits tied for eighth after firing an eight-over 81 on day one. Miguel Reider (Mexico City, Mexico/Tecnológico de Monterrey) carded an 83.
Jose Maria Gallegos (Ahome, Mexico/Montverde Academy) and Nick Fisher (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) each recorded an 85 to open the tournament. Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) finished at 86.
Sitting second through fourth are Scranton (324), Drew (325) and Moravian (328). Drew's Myles Cherry leads individuals after shooting a four-over 77.
Saturday's second and final round is slated to tee off at 11 am at Woodholme.
