SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher's lead in the all-time series with Susquehanna was reduced to 8-3 today when the Crusaders, who began the day tie with Scranton for second place in the Landmark Conference, pinned a 14-7 setback on head coach Brian Kelly's squad.
- Jake Ziegler (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols School) supplied the Gophers (8-5, 0-5 Landmark) with two goals and a pair of assists. He tallied both of his goals in the third quarter, including one with :02 showing on the clock that trimmed the Cruaders' lead to 10-5.
- Pierce Bailey (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) stuck two goals for Goucher, both in the first quarter. He opened the scoring with an unassisted goal 1:59 into the contest and created a 2-2 tie with his second goal, which was set up by Ziegler.
- Michael Bulnes (Miami, Fla./Christopher Columbus) accounted for both of the goals the visiting Gophers scored in the fourth quarter.
- The Crusaders (11-4, 4-1 Landmark) unleashed more shots, 38-26, scooped up more ground balls, 32-14, and dominated at the faceoff X, winning 21 of the 24 faceoffs, on the way to their third straight victory over the Gophers.
Goucher brings down the curtain on its 2016 season one week from today when it takes on Drew in a Landmark Conference contest in Madison, N.J. The opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
