For the first time in his career, junior Mason Gorman (Boise, Idaho) of the Goucher College men's lacrosse team was named the Landmark Conference's men's lacrosse offensive athlete of the week for the period ending March 18 on Monday.
This week, Gorman was a force on the offensive end for the Gophers, as Goucher rolled past Wesley (14-6) and Neumann (13-4) to improve to 5-4 overall on the season.
First, against Wesley on Wednesday, Gorman scored twice and recorded a game-high three assists. Then, at Neumann on Saturday, he tallied four goals in a match for the first time in his career to lead the way. He also recorded two more assists for the Gophers, as Goucher had their two best performances on the offensive end on the season this past week.
For the season, Gorman is in a tie for second on the team in goals scored with 10, while being second in assists with eight. His eight assists are already a career-best in a season for Gorman, while his 10 goal mark is one away from matching his career best for a season which came in his first year in the program in 2016.
Gorman and the rest of the Goucher College men's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, as they open Landmark Conference play for the 2018 season at home against Scranton. Action at Beldon Field gets underway at 1 p.m.
