Albright Snaps Gophers' Win Streak

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Albright College never trailed and slowed Goucher College en route to a 14-6 non-conference men's lacrosse victory Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Albright (4-3) scored just 1:07 into the game on a Jack Burke goal.
- James Dugan tied the game for the Gophers (4-2) on a solo tally with 3:40 left in the quarter.
- The Lions scored with under a minute left to take a 2-1 lead into the second frame.
- Albright scored 1:02 into the second to up its lead to 3-1.
- Goals just over a minute apart by Tyler May and Jack McDermott for the Gophers tied the game 3-3 with 11:21 on the clock.
- The Lions scored five straight goals to close out the first half and took an 8-3 lead into halftime.
- The guests increased the lead to 9-3 with just over eight minutes left in the third on a Justin Moroney goal.
- Goucher ended a nearly 19-minute scoring drought with 7:43 on the clock on a goal by Theo Cook IV. Dugan assisted on the goal.
- Albright scored twice in a two-minute span to increase the lead to 11-4.
- McDermott's second goal of the game with 44 seconds on the clock made it 11-5 through three quarters.
- Albright scored the first three goals of the fourth to build a 14-5 lead with 3:27 left.
- May scored his second goal of the contest with 1:15 to go.
- Goucher outshot Albright 41-38, with Lion goalie Sean McNicholas making 14 saves.
- Jack Smith made six saves in goal for the Gophers.
- Sean Nolan registered four caused turnovers and six ground balls for Goucher. Nolan has multiple caused turnovers in five of Goucher's six games.
- Nick Gambone added two caused turnovers and had three ground balls.
- Cook and Smith picked up three ground balls apiece.
- Goucher, which entered the game second nationally in man-up offense, was 0-1 with the man advantage. The Lions also failed to convert their lone man-up opportunity of the afternoon.
