Morgan Records 100th Career Point in Big Win over Juniata

TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore Jacob Morgan totaled four goals and three assists, including the 100th point of his career, as the Goucher College men's lacrosse team posted a big 17-2 win over Juniata College in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field
- Goucher (8-6, 2-4 Landmark) got on the board with a Tyler May goal 3:56 into the contest.
- Holden Vance scored a pair of goals 13 seconds apart to make it 3-0 with 8:03 left, then Morgan's first goal of the game came at the 4:42 mark.
- Juniata (2-11, 0-5) scored with 1:49 remaining to make it 4-1 after one.
- After a slow start to the second, the Gophers scored four goals in a span of 2:36 to up their lead to 8-1.
- Jack McDermott scored two goals at 8:43 and 7:46 before Morgan's second goal of the game with just under seven minutes left.
- Morgan assisted on a Kevin Gearhart tally with 6:07 left, then his assist on May's goal with 3:57 to go gave Morgan 100 career points.
- May scored with 1:17 left to make it 10-1 at intermission.
- Goucher scored all three goals in the third.
- Theo Cook IV scored with just over eight minutes to go.
- Morgan scored off a feed from Vance at the 7:25 mark, followed by a May goal with 6:06 on the clock.
- The Eagles ended their scoring drought 1:40 into the fourth quarter.
- Goucher tacked on four goals in a span of 2:54 to make it 17-2 with 8:54 left.
- May, Dylan White, Morgan and Vance all scored.
- Morgan has now totaled 55 goals and 48 assists for 103 points in 27 career games. He has scored at least one goal in 20 consecutive games.
- May finished with five goals, while Vance notched three goals and two assists.
- McDermott also scored a pair of goals on the afternoon.
- Jack Smith made six saves through the first three quarters in goal for Goucher. Jaden Algarin and Josh Steinmiller split the fourth in goal for the Gophers.
- Sean Nolan and Gearhart each had two caused turnovers for Goucher.
- Aaron Butera was 11-15 at the faceoff dot for Goucher and picked up five grouns balls. The Gophers won 15 of the game's 23 faceoffs.
- Goucher outshot the Eagles 49-24.
- The Gophers have won all three meetings with Juniata.
- Goucher is on the road for its next two games, including a trip to Susquehanna on Wednesday at 4 pm.
- The Gophers final home game of the regular season is set for Saturday, April 27 against Lycoming at 1 pm at Beldon Field.
