SCRANTON, Pa. - Host Scranton scored a goal in each half, as the Goucher College men's soccer team fell to the host Royals, 2-0, on Saturday in Landmark Conference action.
With the loss, Goucher dropped to 1-8-1 overall and 0-2 in the Landmark Conference, while Scranton improved to 3-4-2 and 1-1 in the Landmark with the victory.
In the defeat, Scranton scored goals in the 34th and 73rd minutes of the match, as the Gophers struggled on the offensive end all afternoon. Overall, Scranton outshot Goucher, 12-1, in the match, while holding a 9-1 edge on corner kicks. In net, senior goalie Daniel Hendry (Lewisburg, Pa.) kept Goucher in it throughout, making three saves on the day.
The Goucher College men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, as they take on Wilson in non-conference action. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Beldon Field.
