Tchantchuing-Ngoko Records Hat Trick, as Men’s Soccer Blanks Rosemont, 3-0
TOWSON, Md. - First-year Jack Tchantchuing-Ngoko (Silver Spring, Md.) scored a goal in the first half, then two more in the second to notch his first career hat trick and pace the Goucher College men’s soccer team to a 3-0 win over Rosemont on Wednesday afternoon at Beldon Field.

With the win - the Gophers' third straight overall - Goucher is now 4-8-1 overall for the year and winners of four of their last five matches. Rosemont fell to 3-11 with the defeat.
To open the contest, Goucher kicked off play with aggressiveness on the attack from the opening whistle, taking 10 shots in the first 45 minutes.
But, it was not until the 23rd minute that the Gophers broke the scoreless tie. There, Tchantchuing-Ngoko scored his first goal of the game to give the Gophers a 1-0 lead. On the play, two players were credited with assists, as fellow first-years Nick Haines (Taneytown, Md.) and Nick Sickler (Towson, Md.) were awarded assists.
The 1-0 lead held for Goucher through the rest of the first half and into intermission. The second half, however, saw a complete domination by Goucher on both sides of the ball. Overall in the period, Goucher took 10 more shots, and did not allow one shot by Rosemont.
Tchantchuing-Ngoko proceeded to then put the game out of Rosemont's reach with goals in the 56th and 63rd minutes to give the Gophers an insurmountable 3-0 lead.
On the Tchantchuing-Ngoko goal in the 56th minute, junior Brandon Cohen (Redondo Beach, Calif.) was credited with an assist, while on his goal in the 63rd minute, first-year Samuel Spencer (Potomac, Md.) dished him a pass at the top of the box which he buried.
Overall, Goucher outshot Rosemont, 20-6, in the contest, and held a 4-0 edge on corner kicks. In net, first-year Cole Judkins (Norwalk, Conn.) got the start and recorded his first career shutout, making three saves in the opening frame of the win.
The Goucher College men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, as they host Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference match-up at Beldon Field. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
