BALTIMORE, Md. – Isaiah Perry (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) and Matt Sanders (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) helped Goucher College begin the match on a high note while the final 35 minutes left a sour taste in Gophers mouth after falling 3-2 in overtime to Immaculata University in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday.
Perry took a pass from the left by Xavier Dever (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) before taking a small dribble and drilling home first career tally into the right netting at the 11:24 mark.
Sanders helped increase the lead to two goals when he knocked in a deflection off a defender on a corner into the netting from over 20-yards out at 32:38. It was the sophomore's second career tally after finding the twine against Gwynedd Mercy on Sept. 25, 2018 in his freshman campaign.
After the Mighty Macs tied the game at 2, Immaculata outshot the Gophers 4-1 including the decisive tally in the 94th minute.
Goucher returns to action when the team concludes its two-game homestand against McDaniel on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
