ITA Recognizes 11 Goucher Players for Academics
SKILLMAN, N.J. In recognition of their academic accomplishments, 11 tennis players from Goucher have been designated 2008 ITA Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the governing body of collegiate tennis.

Honorees Must Achieve GPA of 3.50 or Higher During Academic Year

SKILLMAN, N.J. – In recognition of their academic
accomplishments, 11 tennis players from Goucher have been
designated 2008 ITA Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association, the governing body of collegiate tennis.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must meet the
following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) achieve a
GPA of 3.50 or higher during the academic year, and 3.) have been
enrolled at his/her present school for at least two semesters.
From Goucher's men's tennis program, Chris Covey (Exeter,
N.H./Exeter), Andrew Gerst (Newton, Mass./Newton
North), Jeff McLeod (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus),
Amit Rosenberg (Bellevue, Wash./International
School) and Billie Weiss (Lutherville,
Md./Dulaney) were named 2008 ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The following six members of Goucher's women's tennis team earned
the ITA Scholar-Athlete designation following the 2007-08 season:
Mouna Attarha (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont),
Dana Clark (Oxford, Mich./Sacred Heart),
Hilary Fast (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue), Kim
McPhail (Seattle Wash./Roosevelt), Joan Pulupa
(Gaihersburg, Md./Richard Montgomery) and Katie
Shaw (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School).
In addition to the 11 individuals who were recognized, both of
Goucher's tennis programs qualified to be 2008 ITA All-Academic
Teams, an honor which goes to any program on which the combined
cumulative GPA of every eligible student-athlete is 3.20 or above.
