Gophers dropped all six singles matches in straight sets in an 8-1
loss to Washington (Md.).
It was an 8-3 victory by Steve Baum (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and Charlie Leonard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) over Kyle Lisco and John Menzione at No. 2 doubles that game the Gophers (1-5) their lone point.
The Shoremen (5-1) allowed the Gophers to win only four games during the singles competition. At No. 1, Adam Cranford defeated Michael Brooks (Old Westbury, N.Y./Solomon Schechter) 6-0, 6-0; at No. 2, Kevin Papen came out on top of Baum 6-0, 6-1.
