Fujitani Approaches Singles Record at Goucher
Senior Midori Fujitani (Tokyo, Japan) continues to approach the singles record at Goucher College, winning his 52nd career singles match against Division II opponent, Elliot Le Petit, of the Atlantic region's No. 8 ranked, University of Charleston.
HILTON HEAD, SC – Senior Midori Fujitani (Tokyo, Japan) continues to approach the singles record at Goucher College, winning his 52nd career singles match against Division II opponent, Elliot Le Petit, of the Atlantic region's No. 8 ranked, University of Charleston.
Fujitani is currently only seven wins behind Tim Hannigan '02, who currently owns the second most wins in Goucher men's tennis history with 59 singles wins. Hannigan second to only 2016 graduate, Seth Hoesman with 61 career singles wins at Goucher College.
Fujitani is also approaching the Goucher College team doubles wins record with teammate Jack Hodges (London, England). The duo has combined for 29 career wins as a team and is second to only Hoesman and Joey Caracappa (31).
In the match, Goucher (5-5, Landmark 0-0) fell to the Golden Eagles, 8-1. Fujitani pulled out the 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles for the Gophers.
