Gophers Fend Off Royals to Stay Undefeated in Conference Play

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Gophers (12-5 Overall; 7-0 Conference) faced the University of Scranton Royals (3-9 Overall; 1-3 Conference) in the first game of a home doubleheader. The Gophers swept the Royals 7-0 in a Landmark Conference matchup.
- Gabe Naftoly and Benedikt Rummel won the No. 1 doubles 6-4.
- in the No. 2 doubles, Tadeo Asprella and George King held their opponents without a win (6-0).
- The Gophers swept doubles, winning the No. 3 match by forfeit.
- Naftoly won in straight sets in the No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-2).
- In the No. 2 match, Asprella won the point after going straight sets (6-2, 6-2).
- Rummel fought through a third set after dropping the first to secure the point in the No. 3 set (3-6, 6-0, 10-4).
- Calis Nguyen swept his opponent in the No. 4 match; 6-0, 6-0.
- In the No. 5 singles, Manny Vidal won after allowing just won game to his opponent (6-1, 6-0).
