Freshmen Set Indoor 600-, 1000-Meter Records
CARLISLE, Pa. - A pair of freshmen set indoor school records today while competing for Goucher at the Dickinson Holiday Meet. Adam Scipione (Walpole, MA/Walpole) turned in the fastest indoor time in the history of the school's men's track and field program in the 1,000-meter run as he completed the event in 2:50.04 and in fifth place. Brendan Ference (Smallwood, NY/Monticello) established the record in the 600-meter run with his time of 1:37.59, good for 10th place.
Scipione Completes 1000 in 2:50.04, Good for Fifth Place

Adam Scipione (Walpole, MA/Walpole) turned in the fastest indoor time in the history of the school's men's track and field program in the 1,000-meter run as he completed the event in 2:50.04 and in fifth place. Brendan Ference (Smallwood, NY/Monticello) established the record in the 600-meter run with his time of 1:37.59, good for 10th place.
In the team standings, Goucher finished in 10th place with five points. Scipione secured three of those points with his performance in the 1000 and the other two were earned by freshmen Charlie Rooney (Sea Bright, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy), who placed seventh overall in the 800-meter run (2:12.05).
