GRANTHAM, PA — Brent Stanford (Columbia,
MD/Long Reach) and Travis Boland (Athol, MA/Ralph
C. Mahar) both broke a school record while competing for
Goucher today at the Messiah Invitational.
Stanford bettered his own school record in the 100-meter dash when
he posted a time of :11.39 during trials. In the finals, he
completed the event in :11.44, good for eighth place.
Boland finished in seventh place in the triple jump, setting a new
school record with his effort of 40-feet, 10.75-inches.
Stanford and Boland were also both part of Goucher's relay that
placed sixth in the 4 x 100-meter event. Along with Jeffery
Whitaker (Prines Georges County, MD/The Barrie School) and
Harrison Tucker (Clarksville, MD/Cairo American
College), the foursome from Goucher turned in a time of
:45.08.
The Gophers finished in 13th place in the final team scoring with
six points, ahead of Susquehanna, Juniata and Delaware
Valley.
