Litz Earns Weekly Honor from Landmark Conference Again

Honor Follows First-Place Effort in Pole Vault at Delaware Invitational
MADISON, N.J. — Goucher's Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll), who outperformed all entrants in the pole vault competition at the Delaware Invitational on Friday, was named Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week by the Landmark Conference today for the seven-day period beginning January 3.
Litz cleared 15-feet, which was 4-feet, 6-inches higher than Bradley Boe from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, who was runner-up in the Division II/III grouping. Joe Passalaqua, an unattached competitor, was successful at 14-feet, and Chris Dougherty from Villanova was tops among the Division I vaulters (13-6.25).
This marks the second time during the 2010-11 indoor season that Litz was recognined as the top male field athlete by the Landmark Conference. The first time was after he shattered his own indoor school record in the pole vault by clearing 15-feet, 1-inch at the Bow-Tie Track & Field Classic on December 4.
