Weekly Honor from Landmark Conference Goes to Negreann
MADISON, N.J. — One day after finishing in first place in the 5,000-meter run and second in the 3,000 meters, Goucher's Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) today was recognized by the Landmark Conference as its Male Athlete of the Week for indoor track events for Jan. 16-22.
Senior Registers All-Time Top 5 Times in Pair of Events
MADISON, N.J. — One day after finishing in first place in the 5,000-meter run and second in the 3,000 meters, Goucher's Joey Negreann (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek) today was recognized by the Landmark Conference as its Male Athlete of the Week for indoor track events for Jan. 16-22.
Negreann's winning time in the 5,000 meters of 15:42.00 provided him with a more than 35-second victory over Susquehanna's Paul Crowe. It also represents the fourth-fastest time in that event in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program.
The senior was runner-up to Mansfield's Jake Shedden in the 3,000 meters. Shedden crossed the finish line 8.89 seconds ahead of Negreann, whose time of 9:13.16 is the second-fastest for an indoor 3K in program history.
