FAIRFAX, Va. — Goucher fielded four male participants at the Patriot Games today, and two of those four managed to post times which placed them in the top 10 in program history at their respective events.
The Patriot Games, hosted by Division I George Mason, took place over a two-day period and had a total of 32 different events.
Anthony Lee (Vancouver, Wash./Columbia River) recorded the top overall performance for the Gophers. His time of 9:41.47 in the 3,000-meter run was the sixth fastest in the history of the program, and only two Goucher runners (Joey Negreann and Zachary Martin) have finished the race faster. Competing against a field made up largely of D-I competition, Lee placed 43rd in the event this afternoon.
Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) registered Goucher's other top time. Browne finished the 800-meter run in 2:07.03, which is the ninth fastest performance in program history and is less than two seconds shy of his personal best of 2:05.37 at that distance. He finished in 27th place on Saturday.
Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) competed in the 1-mile run for the Gophers, finishing 43rd with a time of 4:50.86, while Hugh Geller (Devens, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School) joined Lee in the 3,000m. He ran the event in 10:23.54 and placed 49th.
The full Goucher indoor track & field team returns to action next Saturday at the Crusader Classic. The meet is hosted by Susquehanna and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
