Kativhu Runs 10th Fastest 60m in Program History

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher participated in the eighth Landmark Indoor Track & Field Championships this afternoon, with the Gophers led by an 11th place showing by Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) in the 60-meter dash.
Kativhu crossed the line in 7.45, taking a hundredth of a second off of his time at last weekend's SU Open with the 10th fastest finish in program history in the event. Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) followed Kativhu in 14th place with a time of 7.55.
Byrum also led Goucher in the 200-meter dash, taking 13th after finishing in 24.48.
Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) broke 56 seconds in the 400-meter dash for the first time this season, completing the race in 55.92 to take 14th place. Liam Lanahan (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley), meanwhile, placed 13th in the one mile run with a time of 5:11.20.
Christian Ribeiro (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) competed in both the shot put and weight throw for the Gophers. His top toss of 7.68 meters (25'2 1/4") in the shot put was a new career-high and it put him in 18th place.
Goucher did not register a team score in the meet. Moravian earned 203 points for its sixth consecutive Landmark title and its seventh overall in eight years. Susquehanna followed with 173 points while Elizabethtown earned 62 points.
