Gopher Men Split With Moravian and Susquehanna, Women Fall to 'Hounds and River Hawks
TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College swimming teams hosted a tri-meet against Susquehanna University and Moravian University Saturday afternoon at the von Borries Aquatic Center.
The Gopher men split the meet, defeating the Greyhounds 84-18 but falling to the River Hawks 145-46. The Goucher women fell to Moravian 101-79 and to Susquehanna 156-61.
The women earned first in two events during the meet. Darcy McFarland took the win in the 200 IM (2:37.69). The 200 Freestyle Relay team consisting of Emma Kistner, Alana Moore, Emily Strickland, and Kan Jarvis earned the second victory of the meet for the Gopher women (2:03.62).
Jarvis earned a second-place finish in the 50 Butterfly (32.63), while McFarland added a pair of third place finishes in the 100 Backstroke (1:07.97), and in the 50 Freestyle (27.39), falling under a second off pace for first.
The men came out victorious in two events as well. Ben Graff earned the first victory for the Gopher men in the 50 Butterfly (25.96). In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Quincy Barnes, Jack Buckley, Noah Moudarres and Graff earned the first-place finish for the Gophers (2:08.73) to end the meet.
Graff also earned two second place finishes in the 100 Butterfly (1:05.51) and the 50 Backstroke (27.85). Moudarres earned second in the 50 Butterfly (49.90).
Goucher hosts Drew on Saturday, January 20th at the von Borries Aquatic Center.
