Goucher Men's And Women's Track And Field Squads Selected To The USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Goucher College men's and women's track and field teams have been named to the 2019-20 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team announced on Thursday.
"I am really proud of how this program was able to successfully manage so much change over the past six months," said head coach Erick Camodeca. "They entered the year with a new head coach and coaching staff, that completely changed their expectations and routines. Followed by a pandemic that completely changed their lives in ways we could never imagine, including missing out on the outdoor season. I know that deflated our spirits. This programs resiliency was clear in the way they successfully handled so much change in one year, and still be able to perform "in" the classroom."
The Gopher women were one of 209 women's teams to be named an all-academic team. The squad posted a 3.52 grade-point average. To be eligible a team must have at least a 3.10 grade-point average. It marked the 14th-straight season the Goucher women's team has earned the honor by the USTFCCCA.
Goucher's men's track and field team posted a 3.29 grade point average to earn a spot on the squad for the fifth time in six years and ninth time in 14 years.
