Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw Named USTFCCCA All-Region
NEW ORLEANS - For the second time in her career, Goucher College women's indoor track and field sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw was named USTFCCCA All-Region in the women's 800-meter run, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Thornton-Fillyaw currently holdes the No. 3 time in Division III in the 800, as she ran a program and Landmark-Conference record time of 2:11.51 to win her second straight Landmark 800 title. She competes on Friday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with the prelims set for 3:45 pm.
Thornton-Fillyaw was also named All-Region in the 800 during the 2023 outdoor season.
