Two Double-Doubles Are Not Enough for the Gophers at Home

TOWSON, MD – Junior Briana Bull and freshman Katie Pacak posted double-doubles for the Gophers (4-14, Landmark 0-8) in a 54-50 loss to Drew University at home Saturday afternoon.
Bull led the Gophers with 19 points and 14 rebounds with Pacak accumulating 16 points and 12 rebounds.
In addition to notching her 10th double-double of the season and second in a row, Bull surpassed 200 assists and 200 steals in her career during the game. Bull now has 204 career assists and 201 career steals. Her mark in steals measures 5th all-time at Goucher College, tied with Maren Hill '03.
The Rangers were led by Michaela Keegan with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sam Lane paced the team with eight rebounds.
How It Happened:
- The Gophers came out shooting in the first quarter, outscoring the Rangers 14-9. Goucher shot 50% on their field goals while Drew shot 33.3%.
- The Rangers changed the momentum of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Gophers 15-2.
- Despite being down after the first half, 24-16, a surge from the Gophers put them back in the game by out-shooting the Rangers down the stretch. However, the Rangers managed to maintain their lead to earn their fourth Landmark victory, 54-50.
- The Gophers and Rangers finished the game shooting field goals at 33.3% (19-of-57).
- Goucher held a decisive advantage in rebounds, 51-31, over the course of the game.
Coach's Thoughts:
- "This is a very tough loss because of our turnovers and inability to make layups and free throws. We made a great effort, especially on defense. Now we need to do a better job executing our offense."
- "We need to hate losing and have that attitude on Monday when we get back to work."
