McFadden Posts Double-Double at No. 21 Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. - No. 21 Scranton extended its win streak to 13 games as it cruised to an 82-36 Landmark Conference women's basketball triumph over Goucher College Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center.
- Scranton (19-2, 10-0 Landmark) scored the game's first nine points.
- A basket by Ava Cox (Elkton, Md./Elkton) got Goucher (1-17, 0-10) on the board just over four minutes in.
- Belle Carini (Haddam, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) had a basket in the final minute of the quarter.
- The Royals held a 20-4 advantage through 10 minutes.
- An Alayna McFadden (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) basket and two Kyani Quarles (Houston, Texas/Cristo Rey Jesuit) free throws made it 23-8 in the first minute of the second quarter.
- Scranton held the Gophers to one fiield goal the remainder of the period and led 41-12 at the break.
- Carini had Goucher's first basket of the second half at the 8:08 mark.
- Julia Cavoli (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) knocked down a jumper midway through the period.
- Briyah Haggins (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) knocked down a three in the first minute of the final frame.
- McFadden scored nine of her team-high 13 points in the final frame as Goucher outscored the Royals 19-13.
- McFadden registered a double-double with 13 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
- Carini finished with eight points.
- Goucher shot 22% overall and was 12-18 at the free throw line.
- The Royals shot 44.3% for the game and knocked down 13 three pointers. They also held a 45-38 rebound advantage.
- Goucher travels to No. 18 Catholic on Wednesday night for a 7 pm game.
- The Gophers return home next Saturday, hosting Susquehanna in a 4 pm game at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center. Goucher faculty, staff and students are currently permitted to attend.
