Pevey Wins Drew Springbrook Invitational For Goucher Women's Golf
MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post) won the Drew Springbrook Invitational to lead the Goucher College women's golf team to a second-place finish on Monday.
Four days ago, Pevey finished second, and the Gophers won the Elizabethtown Invitational. The senior shot an 85 to win the event by two strokes. Pevey posted the low score of a tournament for the second time of her career after posting an 84 at the Gettysburg Tri-Match on September 14, 2018. Pevey notched her fifth-best round in her collegiate career, and she recorded a score in the 80s for the sixth time.
Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) finished eighth with a round of 99, while Randi Marshall (La Quinta, Calif./Half Moon Bay) (13th place, 106) and Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa./Pennsylvania Leadership Academy) (16th place, 110) rounded out the Gophers competitors.
The Blue and Gold finished with a team score of 400 in second place, while Scranton (354) won the event, and host Drew (401) finished one stroke behind Goucher.
The Gophers return to action with a tri-meet with Jefferson and Alvernia on April 14. The competition at Jefferson will be the team's final tune-up for the Landmark Conference Championships on April 17.
