Starchvick Post Low Score To Pace Goucher Women's Golf In Dual Meet With Catholic
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) posted the low round in a dual meet for Goucher College in a dual meet with Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference women's golf action on Saturday.
Starchvick tied her second-lowest collegiate score with a round of 86 to win the meet over teammate Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post) by two strokes. Starchvick shot a 41 on the front nine and a 45 on the back nine with one birdie and four pars on the afternoon to earn her first individual win.
Starchvick also posted a round of 86 in the final round of the Landmark Conference Championships in 2019, while she notched a career-best round of 82 at the Spartan Invitational on April 6, 2019.
Five days after shooting an 85 to win the Drew Springbrook Invitational, Pevey notched a round of 88 on Saturday to finish two strokes behind her fellow classmate. The senior shot a 45 on the first nine holes and a 43 on the final nine with four pars on the afternoon.
Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa./Pennsylvania Leadership Charter) (10th place, 99) and Randi Marshall (La Quinta, Calif./Half Moon Bay) (12th place, 103) also competed for the Gophers.
Catholic won the match by three strokes, 373-376.
Goucher returns to action at the Jefferson Invitational on Wednesday in the final tuneup for the Landmark Conference Championships.
