Pevey Named Landmark Conference Women's Golf Athlete Of The Week
BALTIMORE, Md. – Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post), a member of the Goucher College women's golf team, has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week for the week of April 5-11. It is the second time in her career she has earned the weekly honor.
Pevey won an event, finished second in another while averaging 86.5 strokes per round in her two rounds for the week. Pevey won the Drew Springbrook Invitational on Monday by two strokes after carding an 85 in the event. She followed up that performance with a second-place finish in a dual meet with Catholic on Saturday. The senior finished two strokes behind teammate Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) with a score of 88. Pevey has not finished lower than second, and she is averaging 88.3 strokes per round in the three rounds this season.
The senior first took home the honor for the week of September 12-16, 2018, after Pevey posted the top score at the Gettysburg Tri-Match for her other medalist honor in her career. Pevey is also a two-time All-Landmark Conference first-team selection after finishing third at the conference championships in her freshman and fifth sophomore campaigns.
Goucher returns to action at the Jefferson Invitational on Wednesday in the team's final tuneup before the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday hosted by Drew.
