Women's Lacrosse Drops Home Opener to McDaniel
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's lacrosse team opened the home portion of their 2018 schedule at Beldon Field Wednesday afternoon but visiting McDaniel spoiled the homecoming, taking a 19-3 win over the Gophers.
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's lacrosse team opened the home portion of their 2018 schedule at Beldon Field Wednesday afternoon but visiting McDaniel spoiled the homecoming, taking a 19-3 win over the Gophers.
With the defeat, Goucher dropped to 0-3 overall for the year, while McDaniel improved to 2-1 with the victory.
In the game, McDaniel took control early, opening an insurmountable 12-0 lead on Goucher in the opening half. On the day, three different Gophers scored goals, as sophomores Alyssa Long (Pennsburg, Pa.), Shannon Stull (Westminster, Md.), and first-year Soleil Gagne (Portsmouth, N.H.) tallied scores.
In net, senior Bridget Den Boer (Sparta, N.J.) once again went into double-figures in the saves category, finishing with 14 on the afternoon.
The Goucher College women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Hood to continue non-conference play. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
