Kebrich Scores Big in Win Against Gators

BALTIMORE - First year Katie Kebrich (Towson, Md.) scored six goals as the Goucher College women's lacrosse team downed Notre Dame of Maryland University 17-5 Wednesday afternoon at Alumnae Field.
- • Goucher (2-6) took the lead early as Katherine Luetgens (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo) scored off a feed from Amelia Lazzini (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette).
• Jordyn Altieri (Vista, Calif./Vista) extended the lead with her first goal of the game, just her second of her career
• Kebrich knotted her first of the game at the 06:41 mark
• Notre Dame (0-5) got on the board with just over three minutes left in the quarter off a Jade Stewart goal. Sarah Generoso assisted the tally
• Luetgens answered off a Lelia Webb (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) feed two minutes later to extend the Goucher lead 4-1
- Altieri scored her second goal of the game to open the second frame. Both of Altieri's goals were unassisted today
- Webb added to her scoring tally by netting a goal with 07:02 remaining
- Generoso got the Gators back on the board with an unassisted tally of her own not a minute after (06:39)
- Kebrich scored again off of a free position attempt to net her second of the day
- Averee Radonovich then answered with a free position shot of her own to make the score 7-3 going into halftime
- Amaya Locke (Bowie, Md./Bowie) kicked off the second half with an unassisted tally of her own at the 12:51 mark
- Molly Smith (Damascus, Md./Damascus) then scored her first of the game off of a Luetgens assist
- Kebrich got her hat trick off of another free position attempt
- Notre Dame rattled off two straight goals from Emma Alascia and Generoso
- Kebrich then got the Gophers back on track, kicking off a seven goal run, as Webb continued to be the distributor for the Gophers with her second assist of the afternoon.
- Locke got the Goucher onslaught going in the fourth
- Kebrich scored her fifth of the game at the 11:39 mark
- Smith scored two back to back for her hat trick at the 10:11 and the 06:16 marks
- Kebrich finished her scoring day with five minutes left in the game off of a Lazzini assist
- Izzy Montenegro (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) finished the scoring for the Gophers to make the final 17-5
- Goucher outshot Notre Dame 42-14 and finished 2-4 on free position shots.
- Kebrich finished with six points. She led all Goucher scorers, she also led the Gophers in draw controls with six on the afternoon.
- Smith registered three goals, while Luetgens and Altieri each notched two goals and an assist. Locke chipped in a pair of goals.
- Webb posted a goal and three assists.
- Smith and Altieri each had three caused turnovers apiece, while Kebrich and Carla Caballero (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) recorded two each.
- Sydney Lewis (Baltimore, Md./Carver) started in goal and made four saves in the first half before Belle Christ (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made a pair of saves in the final 30 minutes.
- Goucher recorded its eighth straight victory against the Gators.
- Goucher travels to Neumann on Saturday for a 1 pm non-conference game, its final tune-up before Landmark Conference play.
- After opening conference action at Elizabethtown on March 25, the Gophers return home Saturday, April 1 against Juniata.
