Neumann Edges Gophers in Defensive Battle

TOWSON, Md. - Tatiana Emeruwa and Emily Burk led a fourth quarter rally for Goucher College, but the visiting Neumann Knights held off the Gophers for a 7-6 non-conference women's lacrosse victory Saturday afternoon art Beldon Field.
- Katherine Luetgens kicked off the scoring for the game for Goucher (2-5) with an unassisted goal at 14:16.
- Neumann (4-3) added three goals in a span of 2:16 to build a 3-1 lead.
- Camden West ended the Knights goal run with 3:05 remaining in the quarter.
- Neumann extended their lead just a minute later ending the quarter up 4-2.
- Sydney Lewis made six saves in a scoreless quarter, Neumann tallied three saves in the quarter.
- Goucher took seven shots, while Neumann added six to their total.
- Maggie Miller scored the first goal of the quarter for the Knights, with the assist from Maggie Blemings just over two minutes into the half.
- Lindsey Fagan scored the two other goals for Neumann in the half, her second being a free position goal.
- The Gophers added three shots to their total, while Lewis made three more saves.
- Emeruwa began the scoring rally for the Gophers, with her first goal coming at 14:10.
- Burk notched back-to-back unassisted goals, leaving Goucher down two with 10:35 remaining in the game.
