Women's Soccer All-Decade Team Announced
BALTIMORE, Md. - After a week of online voting, Goucher Athletics has announced the Women's Soccer All-Decade Team. We would like to thank everyone that voted! Congratulations to the members of the 2010s Goucher College Women's Soccer All-Decade Team.
FORWARDS: Christina Yarrish, Stephanie Budrock, Shay Kettner
MIDFIELDERS: Gaby Davis, Brooke Merchant, Gracie LeFevre
DEFENSE: Caroline McDowell, Anja Ospahl, Samantha Turner, Lexi Solazzo
GOALKEEPER: Lexi Rudolph
To be eligible for the All-Decade Team, a student-athlete must have competed for at least one season between the 2010 and 2019 seasons. They also must be a graduate or still enrolled at Goucher College. In addition, only the statistics during the years of 2010 and 2019 are eligible so statistics that occur before the year 2010 or after the year 2019 do not count toward the All-Decade team vote.
We have had 1,400 votes during the first three weeks of All-Decade votes, and we hope to see everyone back on Monday to vote for the Women's Volleyball All-Decade team!
FORWARDS
Yarrish, a Hummelstown, Pa., native, appeared and started in 59 matches for the Gophers from 2015 to 2018. She posted 15 markers and nine assists for 39 points in her career. Yarrish saved her best offensive output for her final season with eight tallies and three assists for 19 points. She ranked second in the league in points and third in goals that season.
Budrock, a Clark, N.J., native, started 60 of the 69 games for Goucher from 2013 to 2016. She posted 14 goals and nine assists for 37 points in her career. Registering eight goals and eight assists in her final two seasons, Budrock saved her best season for her last after posting four tallies and five helpers for 13 points.
Kettner, a Baltimore, Md., native, appeared in 47 matches with 34 starts in the decade from 2010 to 2012. She registered 14 goals and 11 assists for 39 points in the three years in the decade and was named to the All-Landmark Conference second team in 2010. Kettner paced the league with 10 goals and 24 points in that season.
MIDFIELD
Davis, New York, N.Y., native, started and played in 60 contests from 2012 to 2015 for Goucher. She registered nine goals and 15 assists for 33 points in her career with her assist total ranking fifth in program history. An All-Landmark Conference second-team performer in 2014, she posted four goals and two assists for 10 points that season.
Merchant, a Gaithersburg, Md., native, started 51 of the 62 games she played from 2013 to 2016 in a Gophers uniform. She registered three goals and two assists for eight points in her career, including posting a pair of markers for four points in her junior season.
LeFevre, a Glenwood, Md., native, appeared in 63 matches with 39 starts from 2016 to 2019 in Baltimore. She recorded four goals and three assists for 11 points in her career. She posted three tallies for six points in her junior campaign to earn All-Landmark Conference second-team recognition.
DEFENSE
McDowell, an Alfred, N.Y., native, appeared in 68 matches with 64 starts from 2010 to 2013 in her time in Baltimore. She registered three goals and two assists for eight points in her career. McDowell, who was named to the All-Landmark Conference second team as a junior, notched her best offensive output with two tallies and two helpers for six points in her sophomore year.
Turner, a Vineland, N.J., native, started 62 of the 66 matches she played from 2013 to 2016 with the Blue and Gold. She registered 19 goals and three assists for 41 points in her career, including scoring 18 goals in her final two campaigns. Turner was named to the All-Landmark Conference second team as a junior and ranked second in the circuit with 13 goals in her senior season.
Ospahl, a Silver Spring, Md., native, started and appeared in 61 matches from 2013 to 2016 for the Gophers. She registered three goals for six points in her career including notching a pair of twine twinklers in her junior campaign.
Solazzo, a Tolland, Conn., native, appeared in 65 matches with 63 starts from 2013 to 2016. She registered an assist for her lone collegiate point in 2015 and was named to the All-Landmark Conference first team for her efforts that season.
GOALKEEPER
Rudolph, a Kensington, Md., native, appeared in 40 matches with 35 starts in between the pipes for the Gophers in 2012 and 2014 to 2016. She recorded 160 saves, a 1.20 goals against average and a .788 save percentage in her career. Rudolph posted 50 saves, a 1.056 goals against average and five shutouts in her final season.
