Gulls Power Past Gophers for Women's Tennis Triumph

TOWSON, Md. - Endicott College, which captured the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship in the fall, downed the Goucher College women's tennis team 7-2 Monday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
- Alex DiGiovanni (York, Pa./Dover) and Aaliyah Ybarra (Bastrop, Texas/Cedar Creek) picked up Goucher's (2-4) lone doubles point with an 8-6 win at No. 3.
- Endicott (10-4) prevailed at No. 1 and No. 2.
- Endicott was victorious in 1-5 singles in straight sets.
- Gigi Bellisario (Elmer, N.J./Woodstown) was downed 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2.
- Sarai Silveira (Houston, Texas/Harmony School of Discovery) rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 win at No. 6 singles.
- DiGiovanni picked up her sixth doubles win of the season and her first playing with Ybarra.
- Silvera's dual match singles triumph was the first of her collegiate career.
- Goucher travels to Texas for spring break and plays the first of its three matches in the Lone Star State on Tuesday, March 22, facing Texas Lutheran at 4 pm Eastern.
- The Gophers are next home Saturday, April 2, hosting Salisbury in an 11 am match at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
