Gophers Blank Susquehanna for Second Straight

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College women's tennis team blanked Susquehanna University 9-0 for its second straight victory in Landmark Conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Garrett Complex Tennis Courts.
- Goucher (6-6, 4-1 Landmark) dropped just five games en route to a doubles sweep of the River Hawks (2-10, 0-6).
- Lucy Ingraham and Jessica Townes were 8-1 winners at No. 2, while Shelby Meek and Sarai Oquendo Silveira blanked their opponent at No. 3 8-0.
- Natalia Navarro and Eliza Abady pulled out an 8-4 win at No. 1.
- Townes was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 4 to make it 4-0.
- Abady clinched the match with her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.
- Navarro prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, while Ingraham was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 2.
- Oquendo Silveira won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, with Aaliyah Ybarra winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
- Ybarra won her fifth straight singles match.
- Goucher has won three in a row and six of the last seven against the River Hawks.
- Goucher entertains Division II Kutztown on Wednesday at 3 pm at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
