Gallina Nabs All-Landmark Conference Honors to Lead Track & Field on Final Day of Landmark Championships
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa.) of the Goucher College women’s track & field team nabbed All-Landmark Conference honors on the day, as both women’s and men’s teams wrapped up their 2018 seasons on Sunday at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships.
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa.) of the Goucher College women's track & field team nabbed All-Landmark Conference honors on the day, as both women's and men's teams wrapped up their 2018 seasons on Sunday at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships.
Overall, the Gophers women's team finished sixth at the Championships, while the men's team placed seventh.
On the day Sunday, Gallina had the highest finish for either team, placing second in the 100-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 13.07. With the second place finish, Gallina earned All-Landmark Conference Second Team honors in the event.
Gallina also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 27.07 to complete a big weekend on the track for the Gophers.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Goucher's 4x100 women's relay team finished third in 51.64, while on the men's side of the action, first-year Brian Sullivan (Lake Forest, Ill.) was seventh in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 11.67.
Meanwhile, first-year Devon Esslinger (Las Cruces, N.M.) was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles final with a mark of 16.69 and seventh in the triple jump with a 40 feet, 11.75-inch effort. Esslinger's mark in the event set a new program record, as well.
Overall, Moravian swept both the men's and women's team championships on the weekend in Elizabethtown.
