2021-22 All-Goucher First Team
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College athletic department recently announced its 2021-22 All-Goucher Team. The All-Goucher Team, established in 2010-11, is selected by a panel of coaches and administrators and represents the 10 most distunguished athletes and most outstanding coach during an academic year.
Comprising the 2021-22 All-Goucher Team First Team:
Omosesan Adebamgbe, senior, men's tennis (Philadelphia, Pa./Lower Merion)
Adebamgbe was a Landmark First Team All-Conference selection in both singles and doubles for the Gophers. Omosesan went 5-1 in conference singles play and 6-1 in doubles. Overall, he posted a 13-11 overall singles record and a 16-9 doubles mark as he helped lead Goucher to the Landmark Conference championship.
Anais Dhillon, senior, women's tennis (Cambridge, England/Hills Road Sixth Form College)
Dhillon was the Landmark Conference Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference selection in both singles and doubles for the Gophers, who earned the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference championship. Anais went 5-1 in singles and 4-2 in doubles in conference play. Overall, she finished 8-4 in singles and posted six doubles wins.
Brian Kane, senior, men's tennis (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Select)
Kane earned Landmark First Team accolades in both singles and doubles action for Goucher. A three-time Landmark Conference Player of the Week, Brian was 5-2 in conference singles play and 6-1 in doubles. Kane was 15-8 in doubles overall as he helped lead the Gophers to the conference title.
Makaylin Shoop, junior, equestrian (Davidsonville, Md./South River)
Shoop qualified for IHSA nationals in Limit Fences where she earned Honorable Mention status. Makaylin was the Zone IV, Region I champion in limit fences and qualified for national as the Reserve Zone Champion. She also finished first at the Zone Championship in Team Intermediate Fences.
The captain of the 2021-22 All-Goucher Team:
Carter Hinton-Ayodele, first year, women's track and field (Bowie, Md./Bowie)
Hinton-Ayodele was the Landmark Indoor Track and Field Field Athlete of the Meet and Rookie of the Meet after finishing first in both the long jump and triple jump at the conference championship. Carter also won the triple jump and placed third in the long jump at the Landmark outdoor meet. Hinton-Ayodele became Goucher's first nationals qualifier in women's track and field in the triple jump and placed 10th at indoor nationals. They will compete Saturday at outdoor NCAA nationals in the triple jump.
The coach of the 2021-22 All-Goucher Team:
Steve Baum, women's tennis
Baum guided the Gophers to a program-record six Landmark Conference victories in 2021-22 as they finished with a 6-1 record and earned the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference Championship. Goucher finished with nine victories overall and had a total of four Landmark All-Conference selections, including the league's Player of the Year in Dhillon.
