Equestrian Takes High Point Honors at First Home Show of Season
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team finished as the High Point team Saturday as it hosted its first IHSA show of the 2021-22 season. George Mason finished as the Reserve High Point team.
Cole Jackson (Denver, Colo. / East) was the High Point rider of Saturday's show. He finished first in both open flat and open fences.
The Gophers had four other first place finishes on the day. Jacob Connell (Ellicott City, Md. / Mt. Hebron) placed first in Limit Flat, while Makaylin Shoop (Davidsonville, Md. / South River) was first in Limit Fences. Kristen Wilhelm (Columbia, Md. / Liberty) and Flannery Supplee (Monkton, Md. / Hereford) each placed first in Novice Flat.
Halle Taylor (Dakar, Senegal / International School of Dakar) took second place in Limit Flat and third in Limit Fences.
Kellen Sullivan (Hampton, Va. / Donald Sullivan) was second in Intermediate Flat, with Nicholas Arrighetti (Alexandria, Va. / Edmund Burke School) recording a second place finish in Intro Flat.
Cordelia Edwards (Los Angeles, Calif. / Immaculate Heart) placed third in Intermediate Fences. Claire Edwards (Kailua, Hawaii / Le Jardin Academy) was third in Limit Flat, and Kaitlin Honkofsky (Baltimore, Md. / Patapsco) placed third in Pre-Novice Flat.
Goucher returns to action on Saturday, October 23 when it hosts its second IHSA show of the season.
