Equestrian Competes at Tournament of Champions Winter Classic
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Goucher College equestrian team competed at the Tournament of Champions Winter Classic hosted by Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday. The always-competitive, invitation-only Tournament of Champions field featured programs who have been to the National Championship and all but three have actually won it.
Junior Cole Jackson (Denver, Colo./East) placed fifth in Open Fences and sixth in Open Flat.
Senior Halle Taylor (Dakar, Senegal/International School of Dakar) finished third for the Collegiate Medal. Sophomore Kristen Wilhelm (Columbia, Md./Liberty) was second in Novice Flat.
Junior Makaylin Shoop (Davidsonville, Md./South River) finished fourth in Intermediate Fences. Sophomore Kellen Sullivan (Hampton, Va./Donald Sullivan) finished fifth in Intermediate Flat, while sophomore Jacob Connell (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) was fourth in Limit Flat and fifth in Limit Fences.
The Goucher equestrian team returns to action on Saturday, February 26 when it competes at the IHSA show hosted by George Mason and George Washington at South Riding School in Nokesville, Virginia.
