Equestrian Extends Zone IV Region I Lead at Home Show
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team took high point honors for the second straight week as it hosted its first IHSA show of the season on Saturday. The Gophers, who outdistanced Reserve High Point team American University, now hold a 13-point lead in the Zone IV, Region I standings.
Cole Jackson (Denver, Colo./East) was the High Point Rider after finishing as the Reserve High Point Rider last week. He finished first in Open Fences and third in Open Flat.
Sarah Schultheis (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) placed first in Limit Fences, while Elsa Sellmeyer (Silver Spring, Md.) took first in Limit Flat.
Hayley Anderson (Wayne, Ill./South Elgin) posted a second place finish in Intermediate Flat and was fifth in Intermediate Fences. Makaylin Shoop (Davidsonville, Md./South River) was second in Limit Flat.
Lexi Mason (Lothian, Md./Southern) was third in Novice Flat, while Morgan Kingsbury (Wentworth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) placed fifth in Intro Flat.
Goucher equestrian is idle until November 5 when it competes at the American University IHSA show at Springhill Stables in Burtonsville, Maryland.
