Sellmeyer Reserve High Point Rider, Equestrian Keeps Rolling at American
BURTONSVILLE, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team finished as the High Point Team for the third straight show as the Gophers competed at the American University IHSA show at Springhill Stables on Saturday. Goucher finished ahead of George Mason University, who was the Reserve High Point team.
Goucher also extended its lead in IHSA Zone IV, Region I to 19 points.
Elsa Sellmeyer (Silver Spring, Md.) finishes as the Reserve High Point Rider of the show and also qualified for IHSA Regional Championships. She finished first in Limit Flat and Limit Fences.
Sarah Schultheis (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) was first in Limit Flat and second in Limit Fences. Karen O'Brien (Harwood, Md./The Key School) finished first in Novice Flat, with Elise Simon (Washington, D.C./Georgetown Visitation Prep) first in Novice Flat. Chloe Perkins (St. Thomas, USVI / Antilles School) placed first in Pre-Novice Flat.
Cole Jackson (Denver, Colo./East) placed first in Open Flat and second in Open Fences, with Makaylin Shoop (Davidsonville, Md./South River) coming in second in both Intermediate Fences and Limit Flat. Hayley Anderson (Wayne, Ill./South Elgin) posted a second place finish in Intermediate Flat.
Kristen Wilhelm (Columbia, Md./Liberty) was second in Novice Flat, with Juliette Colas (Paris, France / Ecole Planchat) finishing second in Limit Flat.
Goucher hosts its second home show of the fall next Saturday, November 12.
