Equestrian Hosts Final Regular Season IHSA Show on Saturday
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College equestrian team hosts its final IHSA regular season show of the season on Saturday, March 4 at the Goucher stables starting at 10 am.
Goucher enters Saturday's show having already wrapped up its 11th straight IHSA Zone IV, Region I championship and its 15th overall dating back to 2003. The Gophers have accumulated 272 points and sit comfortably ahead of both the University of Maryland and George Mason University, which have 207 points apiece. A perfect score in any one show is 49 point. American University (191) and Towson University (139) round out the top five in the region.
Goucher has taken high point team honors in each of the last six IHSA shows and was the reserve champion at the first IHSA show of the season at George Mason.
Senior Cole Jackson (Denver, Colo./East) has also clinched his second straight Zone IV, Region I Cacchione High Point Rider title. Jackson enters Saturday with 84 total points, 23 ahead of second place Shannon Flynn of George Mason, with 14 the most an individual rider can earn at any one show.
After Saturday's show, Goucher will compete at the Zone IV, Region I championships next Saturday, March 11 at Springhill Stables in Burtonsville, Md.
