Anderson, Wilhelm Place First, Gophers Ninth at Holiday Classic Tournament of Champions
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - The Goucher College equestrian team placed ninth out of 18 competing teams at the Holiday Classic Tournament of Champions hosted by Centenary (N.J.) University on Saturday. The invitation-only Tournament of Champions events are comprised of some of the best teams in the country, as the teams are champions from the prior season.
Reigning IHSA Reserve National Champion Savannah College of Art & Design took first, followed by Mount Holyoke College, Centenary Blue, Centenary Gold and reigning national champion Skidmore College.
Goucher had a pair of first place finishes on the day. Sophmore Hayley Anderson took home first place in Limit Fences for the Gophers, while Kristen Wilhelm captured the top spot in Novice Flat.
Cordelia Edwards placed third overall in Novice Flat, while Jacob Connell finished fifth in Intermediate Flat. Lily L'Oiseau took home a fifth place finish in Intro Flat.
Saturday's show closed out the first semester for Goucher.
